Almost Anyone Can Wear Contact Lenses
Regardless of whether you're diagnosed with near sightedness, far sightedness, astigmatism, presbyopia (requiring bifocals) or even keratoconus — Kirman Eye can help you make the transition to contact lenses. Based on your prescription and the curve of your eye, we'll select contact lenses that not only correct your vision, but also fit your eyes, and your lifestyle, comfortably.

Paragon CRT®
(Corneal Refractive Therapy)
Paragon CRT is a specially designed oxygen permeable therapeutic contact lens used in Corneal Refractive Therapy. Corneal Refractive Therapy is a sophisticated non-surgical process that temporarily reshapes the cornea while you sleep. You remove the lenses when you awake and are able to go throughout the day without any other vision correction.

Alternative to LASIK
Not a good candidate for LASIK? Is surgery too risky
or expensive? Continuous wear contact lenses may be right
for you. Focus Night-Day silicone hydrogel
soft lenses and Menicon Z rigid gas permeable
lenses are FDA approved for up to 30 days and nights of continuous
wear. Continuous wear lenses offer the convenience of LASIK,
but allow for greater flexibility and control over your final
prescription. The doctors at Kirman Eye have been very successful
with this advanced technology and have many patients enjoying
comfortable 30 day contact lens wear. Schedule an appointment
today to see if continuous wear lenses are right for you!
Soft
vs. Hard Lenses
Contact lenses are made from various types of plastics.
The type of plastic used determines which category the lens
falls into: Soft lenses or Rigid Gas Permeable lenses.
Soft contacts are
made up of 25% to 79% water and are generally very comfortable
to wear. They are available in many affordable styles, including
disposable and cosmetic.
Rigid Gas Permeable
lenses take longer to adapt to, but are more durable and more
resistant to deposit buildup. Gas Permeable lenses tend to
be less expensive over the life of the lens. The structure
of a Gas Permeable lens sometimes offer crisper vision in
comparison to the soft lens equivalent.
Special Prescriptions: Bifocals and Torics
Bifocal contacts are available in both soft and rigid gas
permeable lenses with some brands offering disposable lenses.
Toric lenses are usually capable of correcting your astigmatism,
unless you have an especially complex prescription. Today,
toric lenses come in many varieties, including disposable,
frequent replacement, multifocal and colored.
