The son of Dr. Shahane and Janet Kirman, Gary was born and raised in Hummelstown, PA. Sharing his father’s interest in optometry, Gary earned a B.S. in Biology at Lafayette College (1982) and received his doctorate from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (1986). During his studies, Gary broadened his knowledge of optometry by participating in numerous optometric externships.

In 1986 Dr. Gary Kirman joined his father as a partner at Kirman Eye where he specializes in contact lens fitting and Low Vision evaluations. He is also very active in several optometric organizations.

In 1988 Dr. Gary Kirman was part of an Optometric team that delivered post-op cataract care to patients in Belize, Central America. He also performed routine eye exams, dispensed glasses, and treated eye diseases for the needy.

Outside of the office, Dr. Kirman spends time with his wife Jodi, and their four children, Philip, Joshua, Nathanael, and Olivia. He enjoys boating, water skiing, hunting, snow skiing, and is an active member of his church.
