What Is Low Vision?
Low vision is a term commonly used among eye care professionals to mean partial sight, or sight that isn’t fully correctable with surgery, pharmaceuticals, contact lenses or glasses. Low vision can range from moderate vision impairment, such as tunnel vision or blind spots, to “legal blindness,” to almost total blindness.

Low vision has a variety of causes, including eye injury, diseases and heredity.

Jordy-Seeing Is Believing
Many patients diagnosed with low vision can regain some of their eyesight with the help of the Jordy video magnifier. Worn like glasses, the Jordy is a battery operated vision device that offers a high range of magnification power from as little as 1X to as much as 24X at a distance, and up to 50X for objects that are near. These specialized “glasses” allow people with low vision to enjoy everyday activities, such as reading, writing, watching TV, and even detail-oriented hobbies.

Jordy weighs less than 10 ounces and offers features that include a wide field of view (44 degrees), auto-focus magnification, low-light requirements, and distortion free images.

Using Jordy
Jordy is simple, responsive, and very easy to use. When not being used as glasses, the Jordy is simply slipped into its exclusive docking stand where it is connected to any television set for additional flexibility for reading, writing, and more. The X-Y table makes reading an effortless activity by moving the reading material across as well as up and down.
