Shahane Kirman studied at the Drexel Institute of Technology, Penn State University and earned his doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1954. Upon graduation, Dr. Shahane Kirman served in the United States Air Force Strategic Air Command. Dr. Kirman provided eyecare to the two bomb wings at Carswell Air Force Base and to the flyers at Dallas Naval Air Station. He earned the rank of Captain in the Medical Service Corps.
After serving his country, Dr. Kirman moved to the peaceful countryside of Hummelstown, PA, where he opened his own optometry office in 1958. This was the founding of Kirman Eye.
